How To: Baneblade construction

some of you asked me to do a small English tutorial for my Baneblade assembly, so here it is and I tried my best to translate it ;)

Basically, there is not much to do or magnetise so this will be a rater short one
Please be advised that I did not assembled all different Weapon Variants in the end. But the parts fit nicely and without any greater gaps.

I´ve used the new plastic Kit from GW which is capable of building up to 8 different Variants (6 shown on the Box) of the BB which are listed below:
With a little cutting and slicing, we are able to build a lot of them with one single Model and just have some minor changes to the original GW Modell.

As we can see, the biggest difference lies in the top of the tank. So there is the version with the mounted Turret: Baneblade and  Hellhammer

And the versions with a hull-mounted weapon : Banesword, Banehammer, Doomhammer, Shadowsword, Stormsword and Stormlord

The Problem here is, that this Part is build up in 2 different ways, 1 in direkt front of the tank and the other in the middle of the tank.
To avoid any mismatch and a lot of parts, I´ve decide to assemble the parts as for a Stormlord variant so the Turret will be in the Front. Most of the Weapons will also fix here and the model looks fine even with the hellofagun-tube from the Shadowsword.

So, the only thing we need to do is to switch the different Topsides of the Tank to change the major look for the different variants.
First I´ve build up the major chassis of the Tank.
For the front, I´ve cutted my first part here. I used the top plate from the Stormlord Variant. So we are able to assembly the hullmounted, twinlinked Heavy Boltersystem all the time.
Also, the other Top Variants with the Turret will fit here without any problems.

Now we cut the Part in a half as we will only assemble the topside with the gaps for the Heavy bolters direktly to our chassis.

After That, we fit the other part to the major topside.
Be sure, that this is fitting perfectly. (not like in the picture ;) Otherwise we will get in trouble whey putting the top to the chassis and also we get stuck with the Heavy Bolter System.
In the end,  all parts fit directly and no greater gaps are shown.

The Parts for the Turret are assembled as usual. After this, we can switch both Topsides of the Baneblade easily before deployment on the table.

For the Weapon Systems, some Neodyn magnets will come in handy.
Most of the parts are fitting without it but as I want to able to put the Volcano Cannon on the Turret, I´ve magnetized the parts in the first place to build up my own Space Marine Fellblade.

The side mounted Sponsons are simply put in direction without any magnets. Of course you can use some magnetizing Stuff here but it really fits fine without. If you will use the BB without any Sponsons (armor 14, hell yeah!) you should use some magnets anyway to assemble the plates instead of the sponsons.
For my Fellblade variant, I´ve decide to use the heavy flamers but you can of course choose otherwise. The Sonsons are easy to magnetize as well for the weapon systems so you can switch from flamers to bolters and vice versa.

Here are again some Pictures of the different Variants.

Stormlord Transport Vehicle

At least 5 different Weapon Systems can be assembled easily here.

I still need some work on the Turret here and a solution for the 2 gaps i nfront...but there are still some bunch of spare parts from the Kit left to work with :)

You can take off the long Barrel , or play it as a Shadowsword instead.

As you can see, this was nothing special so far. You don´t need to buy yourself a pack of Magnets or just several Baneblade Kits. Just feel fine with one box and after painting, nobody will complain about some minor changes towards the "original" model anyway.

And always remember: The emperor protects!
